zaLUG, which is based in Gauteng, was established in 2016 and after months of hard work, became South Africa (and Africa’s) first recognised LUG (RLUG).

CapeLUG was established in November 2017 as a sister LUG to zaLUG, serving the Western Cape LEGO® community.

In 2017 jhbLUG became South Africa’s second RLUG, and in 2018 SAFOLs became South Africa’s first RLOC (Recognised LEGO® Online Community).

South Africa is lagging behind many countries in the world that have multiple LUGs and we hope that more LUGs will be created across South Africa to help grow LEGO as a hobby for young and old.
